As I type this, I’m deep in thought about my journey as a writer. This is the first “blog” I’ve written since 2020, though I’ve faithfully journaled my life experiences with paper and pencil all along. Five years ago, I started a ministry called PoetiK Prayers. The “K” in PoetiK stands for my first name initial, a part of my identity I still hold close today (click the link to learn more). But as time passes, life brings changes. Back then, I was in my final year at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. I was also running a full-time publishing company, Qualified Daughters, as a first-time entrepreneur, all while ministering the Gospel in various settings.
My love for both reading and writing has never wavered. I’ve always been drawn to both the creation and interpretation of literature. Even with my strong desire for privacy in certain areas of my life, I deeply understand the power of storytelling. Scripture says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Revelation 12:11).
Letting others read my words isn’t just a personal outlet; it’s a way to encourage, inspire, and uplift those who may find strength in my story. Through my writing, I hope to be a voice that speaks healing, hope, and truth. I give all my love and gratitude to each viewer of my thoughts, my poetry, and my photography. May the love of Christ sustain you, always.
