This isn’t one of my traditional posts. Instead, I thought it would be cool to share a little more about myself quickly and easily. As an introvert who barely uses popular social media platforms, I don’t always open up in conversation. Consider this a light-hearted way to learn a few things about me without having to ask. So, here we go :).
- I was born in 1999 in Charleston, South Carolina.
- I am saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost-filled.
- I am the middle child; one older brother & one younger sister.
- My favorite color is Lilac (some people would just say purple, but I like to be specific).
- I have three degrees: B.A. in Religious Studies, M.A. in Christian Ministry, and M.S. in Business.
- I am a WWE fanatic. My favorite wrestlers are Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Undertaker, and Trish Stratus. In my spare time, I love to watch old matches and podcasts to hear the journeys of retired and current wrestlers.
- My favorite sport is basketball, with my favorite NBA player being Trae Young. My favorite WNBA player will always be Candice Parker.
- I’ve been a poet since age seven.
- I love to read and write A LOT. When family or friends call me and I don’t answer, I’m most likely in a bookstore or a library. I also have three vintage typewriters that I use, often, to journal or take notes. Oh, and I have bookshelves built into my bed.
- Growing up, I could not watch BET. I also wasn’t allowed to have social media until I was a freshman in college (2014). I deleted my social media accounts in 2019 and didn’t return until late 2020. It’s not my cup of tea, but I am trying to learn the benefits of it.
- I have three best friends who have been in my life for 15+ years: Ladasha (22), Karrington (19), and Xavier (19). To clarify, those are not ages, but years.
- Although I love gospel music and spiritual hymns, my favorite music genres are classical and jazz.
- I love the theatre, the ballet, and the opera. My favorite play of all time is The Piano Lesson by August Wilson; A Raisin in the Sun definitely gets an honorable mention.
- I laugh and joke quite a bit. Sometimes, it’s not appropriate in certain settings, but I am getting better. I think.
